Las Vegas Woman Accused of Leaving Nine Dogs in Hot Car, Two Deceased

In a shocking incident, a 47-year-old woman, Katrina Brazil, from Las Vegas is suspected of leaving nine dogs in her car on a day when the outside temperature reached a sweltering 43 degrees Celsius. Tragically, two of the dogs did not survive.

Arrest and Rescue

According to Fox5, Brazil was arrested last Friday. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) responded to a report about the dogs. When officers arrived at the scene, they found seven dogs in distressing condition and two dogs, both pitbulls, already deceased.

The officers promptly removed the dogs from the car, relocated them to a cooled space, and provided them with water. The surviving dogs were then handed over to an animal protection agency.

Witness Accounts

A witness at the scene reported that Brazil attempted to cool the dogs down, even placing the deceased pitbull puppy in ice water. Another witness told the police that the car's engine was still running. Brazil reportedly did not respond to inquiries about the condition of the animals.

During her interaction with the police, Brazil claimed ownership of the dogs. She also mentioned that her boyfriend bred the dogs for money.

Brazil was released last Tuesday. As part of her release agreement, she has consented not to keep any more animals.
