Australian Athlete Reclaims World Record with 3,249 Pushups in an Hour

In an impressive display of physical endurance, Australian fitness enthusiast, Daniel Scali, has reclaimed his Guinness World Record title by performing an astounding 3,249 pushups in one hour.

Breaking Previous Records

Scali, 30, initially set the record for the most pushups in one hour at 3,182 in April 2022. However, his record was surpassed by fellow Australian Lucas Helmke, who performed 3,206 pushups in November 2022. Not one to back down, Scali returned to the challenge, surpassing Helmke's record by performing an additional 43 pushups.

Training and Overcoming Pain

Scali attributes his success in this attempt to the burpees he performed during his training. "It got my fitness up to a space it'd never been before. But not just that, it helped me to deal with my pain," he shared with Guinness World Records.

The pain he refers to is due to a condition called complex regional pain syndrome in his left arm, a result of a severe break when he was 12 years old. Despite the constant pain, Scali persevered, stating, "It's the brain sending wrong messages to my arm. So anything like soft touch, movement, wind, water, will cause me pain."

Future Goals

Not content with reclaiming his pushup record, Scali has set his sights on another goal. He plans to reclaim another record he previously held - the longest time in an abdominal plank position. Given his determination and resilience, it's safe to say that he will be giving this challenge his all.
