San Diego Man Achieves Remarkable Feat: Visiting All 193 Countries in the World

A decade-long dream has finally become a reality for San Diego resident Randy Williams, also known as Ramblin' Randy. Williams recently accomplished the extraordinary milestone of visiting every country in the world, when he embarked on a tour of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan, a central Asian nation renowned for its enigmatic allure, had long remained elusive to Williams due to its restrictions on visitors. However, with the country opening its doors again after a four-year hiatus, Williams wasted no time in seizing the opportunity to explore its mysteries.

As a local radio DJ affectionately known as "R Dub!," Williams expressed his fascination with Turkmenistan, stating, "It is one of the most mysterious countries on the planet, and it's one of the most restricted when it comes to visitors." He also mentioned that the only way to visit Turkmenistan is through an approved tour company.

The trip to Turkmenistan marked the final chapter in Williams' remarkable quest to set foot in all 193 countries recognized by the United Nations. Notably, he also visited the two "observer states," Vatican City and Palestine, as well as venturing into disputed territories such as Kosovo, Western Sahara, and Taiwan.

Williams's journey was not without its share of challenges and delays. Just last month, during a visit to Syria, he discovered that he was only the second tourist allowed into the country since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. These obstacles, however, only fueled his determination to achieve his goal.

Now that he has accomplished this incredible feat, Williams is already looking ahead to his next venture. Faced with the realization of having visited all the countries on Earth, he humorously quipped, "Well, when you run out of countries, you've gotta make your own. I bring you the People's Republic of Slowjamistan." Williams revealed that he has purchased 11 acres near the Salton Sea, where he has established his own country called Slowjamistan, with himself as the self-proclaimed leader.

Williams's remarkable achievement is a testament to his relentless spirit of adventure, curiosity, and determination. His unparalleled journey has not only broadened his own horizons but also inspired others to explore the diverse wonders of our world.
